Human Residue is about pushing the boundaries of micro budget, open source film making.
To those of you that have been sent 'Members Eyes Only' preview DVDs; we want to know what you think of the film so far.
I'll be the first to admit there's a lot of work that needs to be done to get Human Residue up to the standard we are all hoping for. However there are some very encouraging parts, which show that we can do it!
It would be really helpful to hear what people think who haven't been involved in the shoot. Like a test screening, but more spread out.
It'd also be really great to hear what people who were involved think, now that we've been able to spend some time away from the project.
Please be as honest as you like. This is designed to help improve the overall quality of the film. Your thoughts and ideas will have a direct impact on where we take things from here. This is your chance to shape Human Residue and (hopefully) be a part of something big!
Thank you.
MIKE

thanks Mike,
I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's point of view.
Hope the DVD's all arrived with you by now. If for any reason you haven't received yours (we tried to get absolutely everyone's addresses) just email us: residue.movie@gmail.com (cast/crew/sponsors and helpers only!)

Have only watched half the film so far....up to the bit where the second pod (Beta) comes into it. Thoroughly gripped by the first part....thought the acting was good....camera work and shots very professional....music fitted really well with the whole atmosphere of the film. You need to have a spare afternoon, however, to watch everything on the DVD!! Enjoyed the background information and out-takes and behind the scenes, but PLEASE delete the bits where I appear, as I look bloody awful!
Will watch the rest of the film soon and report back....looking forward to finding out what comes next, with eager anticipation!
Well done to all concerned....I hope it's a great success. |

I was very impressed overall by the cinematography & lighting throughout. & effects were effective & some good jumpy bits (where the zombie thing dangles over the edge & grabs the long haired fella & the one who looks like a tree in a static shot in the foreground & darts off)
liked the bit in the monitor room with the 2 lasses in watching , though the long haired lass , when trying to warn the fella on the walkie talkie was painfully slow, I mean, she's trying to warn him & if it was meant to be just the character being a bit weak & passive, the other lassie should have grabbed the walkie talkie from her & bellowed down there like it was a matter of life & death.
also liked the scene where Rachel Blyth's cuddling her sister to leave & her sister whispers "your not coming back" it was creepy & unexpected.
Overall I was very impressed when I found out the budget - Im a big fan of low budget movies & yours looks a LOT more expensive.
Liked the DVD menu's & cover & disc quality too.

Have seen all the film now and come up with an ending! Here goes.
FILM ENDING:
Rachael becomes the only one to survive. Somehow, she makes it to the perimeter fence and escapes. Around the outside are a few by-standers and press. She sees her friend (the blonde girl) looking anxiously about. They meet and hug and start moving off. A few seconds later the whole complex explodes in a huge fireball. She must have triggered some kind of switch by coming through the fence. She's so relieved to be out, but as she leaves the area, arm in arm with her friend, she's scratching her right arm and we see a shot of her developing the same contamination as the black man in pod Beta (sorry, can't remember his name!). She seems not to notice the growth and the final shot could be of her smiling, looking over her shoulder and walking off with her friend into the 'normal' world. Will she contaminate humanity? Who knows!!! |

Thanks very much for your comments.
More ideas for different endings would be greatly appreciated! Caroline getting back to 'the real world' could be interesting and give a chance for someone to explain to her (and us) what has been going on.
Plus a huge fireball explosion could look incredibly cool for a low-budget film such as this. |
